Marigpa – The Golden Journey brings art, nature, and connection to the Hong Kong Arts Centre in an exhibition curated by Noran Design

We are proud to share the success of Marigpa – The Golden Journey, a solo exhibition we curated in collaboration with The Oneness Gallery, presented at the Hong Kong Arts Centre in April 2025. As our third curatorial partnership with the gallery, and one especially close to heart as it took place in our founder’s hometown, this project was a deeply meaningful chapter for Noran Design.

At a time when the world feels both uncertain and urgent in its call for ecological responsibility, The Golden Journey offered not just visual beauty but a space for reflection, connection, and hope.

A Curatorial Vision Rooted in Nature and Connection

Curated by Nicole Fung, founder of Noran Design, the exhibition invited audiences to reconnect with the Earth through the expressive and spiritual works of London-based artist Marigpa. Featuring over 20 vibrant paintings and two immersive installations, the exhibition was thoughtfully presented across four thematic series: Amazing Nature, Encounter, Dreams, and Compassion.

From our first encounter with Marigpa’s work, we were captivated. Not only by the visual energy but also by the artist’s profound call for unity, self-reflection, and environmental care. Each piece felt like a portal into deeper questions: What is our relationship with the Earth? With ourselves? With one another?

“Marigpa’s vibrant paintings remind us of our interconnectedness and our reliance on the Earth. Through their work, the exhibition invites us to engage in collective healing, fostering dialogue about unity, responsibility, and our commitment to a shared future.” — Nicole Fung, Curator

Designing the Experience Beyond the Wall

Noran Design’s role went far beyond curation. We:

  • Designed the official exhibition booklet and visitor feedback form

  • Delivered a virtual opening speech during the media preview

  • Supported visual storytelling and gallery design across both physical and digital channels

Our goal was to create a seamless, immersive journey for visitors, from their first impression to their final reflection, and to carry Marigpa’s message across every touchpoint.

A Resonant Experience for All Involved

The exhibition opened with a private media preview and drew heartfelt responses throughout its run. From curious creatives to seasoned collectors, visitors described the show as “emotionally grounding,” “spiritually uplifting,” and “a timely reminder of what matters.”

It was deeply moving to witness The Golden Journey forge emotional connections across cultures, languages, and generations. In every room, guests found moments of stillness, meaning, and shared humanity.

“We were delighted to host this significant exhibition and witness the incredible connection it forged with our visitors.” — The Oneness Gallery

A True Collaborative Effort

This project was made possible through the generosity and vision of many:

  • The Oneness Gallery, for their continued trust and vision

  • Parhelion Group, our co-host and steadfast supporter

  • PRNetwork, whose outreach made the message soar

  • charity: water, our charity partner and an inspiration to many

  • And of course, Marigpa, whose artistic spirit anchored it all

This collaboration reaffirmed our belief that design and curation are not just about aesthetics. They are about creating spaces for resonance, reflection, and meaningful change.

Looking Ahead

While The Golden Journey has now concluded its time at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the conversations it inspired continue. At Noran Design, we remain committed to supporting artists, organisations, and cultural projects that speak to something deeper, across disciplines and across borders.

Thank you to everyone who visited, supported, and engaged with the exhibition. You made this journey golden.
