Our Work for Kcymaerxthaere

Five Years of Multilingual Design

Since 2021, we have designed and produced over 500 pages of multilingual booklets in more than 26 languages — from Arabic to Japanese. Each edition has been crafted with cultural care: right-to-left and left-to-right typography, culturally appropriate visual hierarchies, and a focus on preserving the narrative integrity of the project across every language.

Designing across 26 languages is not a translation exercise — it is a design exercise. The spatial relationships on the page change completely when the reading direction reverses. Typography that works in English can collapse in Arabic. Getting it right requires rebuilding each edition from the layout up.

About the Exhibition

Hard to Put Into Words

Hard to Put Into Words was an immersive journey into the parallel world of Kcymaerxthaere, complete with a custom-built Vinggnasium planetarium experience, laser-etched interdimensional star maps, and an original soundtrack by composer Stephen James Taylor. Visitors could explore a skyscape from another universe and interact with installations that challenged the limits of imagination.

Our booklets and covers were displayed alongside these artworks — showing how design can serve as a bridge between languages, cultures, and entire worlds, real or imagined.

What This Project Means to Our Practice

Kcymaerxthaere is an ongoing creative relationship that has stretched our understanding of what multilingual design requires. The cross-cultural sensitivity we have developed through this project directly informs the way we approach international clients and mission-driven organisations with global reach.
