The situation
A genuinely unprecedented cultural project — with the communication challenge to match.
Ai-Da Robot occupies a category that did not exist before her: an AI robot that creates original art, participates in cultural discourse, and challenges philosophical assumptions about creativity and consciousness. Communicating that to different audiences — art world, technology press, general public, academic institutions — requires a different approach for each. Noran Design supported the project with design and communications work that helped bring Ai-Da's programme to audiences across multiple continents.
What we did
Digital operations, content design, and publication support for an international cultural programme.
We worked with the Ai-Da team to support the design and communications work behind the project's exhibition and media programme. This included publication design for exhibition materials, digital operations support for content distribution, and design contributions to the project's international communications. Working on a project that sits at the intersection of art, technology, and philosophy required genuine cross-disciplinary engagement — and an understanding that the design itself is part of the intellectual project.
The results
Ai-Da Robot is a project that challenges assumptions about creativity, consciousness, and what it means to be an artist. Supporting that project with design that takes those questions seriously — rather than reducing them to marketing — was both an honour and a creative challenge we learned from.
